This song has been blowing up in the blogosphere like a carpet bombing raid. It seems at first like a rather weird collaboration between Kaskade and Skrillex, one being a progressive house guy and the other an electro/dubstep guy. But Skrillex has been working with a lot of different artists lately so it is not that surprising. What came out of this electronic spawn is a rather groovy electro house track that even has some techy aspects. Check out the rest of Kaskade’s new album here.

Remember that Spencer & Hill track I posted that had two versions, one with a vocal and one without? I posted the one without the vocal because I didn’t feel like it matched the track. Dallask just released his own remix which embraces the vocal aspect and does is very well while still keeping the song banging. Albums are rare in EDM. When we interviewed Alex Kidd he put it well; EDM develops and evolves way to fast for people to only make long time consuming albums. This is why one to three track EPs are more prevalent. Well Wolfgang Gartner just released a full length album with a whopping 13 songs. Some say that albums are meant to be listened to casually, ie on your ipod or CD player while EP’s are meant to played/DJ live. I don’t know about that but I can see how this album dips itself in both categories. There are both electro bangers and at the same time there are songs rather than what I would call an EDM track, if that makes sense. Since the album is so large it is worth checking out all the songs to get a feel for it. Find here on iTunes and Beatport.

Spencer & Hill is that one electro house duo from Germany. They’ve had remixes from our favorites like Porter Robinson, Lucky Date and Dirtyloud. They released two versions of this song, one being a club mix with a vocal on top of it. I like this version without the vocal much better. The vocal mix one has ‘Club Mix’ at the end of its name if you wanna check it out. One Touch Away uses some familiar electro samples and has the feel of that one M Machine track that has been released (Trafalgar).

We decided to make some changes which were long overdue. Our previous host and interface were terrible and made running the site and posting stuff a major hassle let alone not providing so many features required to run an active blog. We have moved to an awesome new host and are now running through WordPress. The overall scheme is similar but the overall appeal should be cleaner and easier on the eyes. We also have a mobile site, even though the flash mp3 don’t work, you can still download the files. The URL is the same for the mobile site (www.crash-it.com) on your phone and at the bottom you can opt to see the regular site. Hopefully we should not see any more bandwidth issues or downtimes in the future. You might see more writers helping me lessen the load of brining you new music. Also we have a new interview coming soon (if all goes as planned) and it has been the biggest one for me as it is one of my top favorite electro house artists ever! Look out for that and more stuff like more interviews and recorded sets.
This new site only contains the last 30 or so Crash-It posts. If you do find yourself at the last one here you will see something directing you to the old site if you want to see the rest, but be aware the the new site will not have any new posts or content on it. In this new site you have to right click download links and hit save as…for now. I will work on making it the easy one click direct downloads again.
Also take note of the URL change. the ‘productions’ is gone from the title, since we weren’t production-ing anything. If you do end up on the old site there will be reminder to come here instead.

I finally give you our Hard Summer Recap! Starting off from the beginning let’s just say the weather could have not been any better in downtown LA for this massive. Nothing beats listening to great music on a warm summer evening. Now out of all the artist I saw my top three would have to be Boys Noize, Duck Sauce, and Gesaffelstein. Although Gesaffelstein played in the beginning of the evening he threw down one of the best true techno sets I have ever seen. Picture a french guy suited up in a full tux sucking down multiple cigarettes behind the decks and you have Gesaffelstein. Below is a video of Gesaffelstein playing one of his hit tracks Variations.
